Accessible Information Standard Compliance League Table

Healthwatch Manchester are currently conducting a large piece of work individually assessing each GP Practice in Manchester for their understanding of and compliance with the Accessible Information Standard. These results have been placed into a league table that you can find at the bottom of this article.

By law, under the Accessible Information Standard (AIS) 2016, all publicly funded health and social care providers must ensure people are given information about their health and care in the format they can understand, such as large print, Braille, digital text files, and audio files, to mention a few.

The Standard sets out a specific, consistent approach to identifying, recording, flagging, sharing and meeting the information and communication support needs of patients, service users, carers and parents with a disability, impairment or sensory loss.

For a simple explanation of this standard, watch this short NHS England video.
