Enter and View: Beechill Nursing Home

We recently carried out an Enter and View visit to Beechill Nursing Home in Cheetham Hill.

Summary:

Based on the observations of authorised representatives and conversations with residents, relatives and staff, we can say that:

The main areas of good practice identified were:

  • Overwhelmingly positive relationships between staff and residents.
  • High quality person-centred care offered to residents by staff.
  • Staff training and skills development.
  • A broad range of organised activities.
  • Multilingual staff.

The main practices that did not appear to work so well were:

  • Communication with residents regarding meal choices.
  • Engaging residents in organised activities.
  • Allowing residents with mobility issues unrestricted access to the garden.
  • Communication with relatives to attend residents and relatives meetings
